Why is file explorer asking for a sign in?

I'm having the same issue. It's been telling me to log in again with my work account for a while and I've been trying to see how to remove whatever association exists between my personal computer and former work profile. I don't even remember using that account on my personal computer.

I am facing the same issue since I have updated the windows. Any idea how to stop it and I cannot sign in. It keeps on going round and round and I cannot even sign in

I only have a personal account on my computer and it insists to request me to use an account of a former job I had. I have no work related information on my computer anymore and it still asks for me to sign in. How to remove this constant requesting?

Hi, Sumit. I have the same problem and yes, I am signed in with a work/business account. In fact, when I go to sign in, File Explorer wants me to log in using a different business account than my own. I do work as a subcontractor, and these are accounts I have access to--but I want to be signed in with my own business (for obvious reasons).

I'm still getting messages from windows complaining about the account even after I deselected to show me Office.com files.

This message is really bugging me and the account they are asking for is the same that File Explorer was complaining about. How to remove the account (work account from previous job) for good on my computer so that no other application in the windows 11 environment requests it?

Try the "Accounts > Access work or school" settings page. If you're like me, you might find an old no-longer-used account that you can disconnect!
