I've been having crash issues for months now with no solution. I've been able to narrow it down to a windows issue but no solution seems to be available.

At random points during gaming (COD Warzone) the video card driver stops working and then immediately recovers. I get a black screen for around 5-10 seconds and that causes my game to crash. It is extremely frustrating.

I have done clean installs of Windows 10 64bit, tested with both NVidia and AMD GPU's, various video card drivers (up to 1 year old), and various other checks and setting changes.

I'm hoping that someone can please respond to help me figure out what is causing this issue because it is extremely frustrating.

Hey everyone, 

I have finally fixed this issue fixed on my PC. I'm so damn happy 😅

Changing my input from DisplayPort to HDMI resolved it. This fixes the crashing completely, even with two sticks of memory in dual-channel mode at full speed 3200Mhz.

This got me curious, since I saw that using HDMI limits my refresh rate to 100Hz. So, I switched back to DisplayPort but forced it to run at 120Hz instead of the full 144Hz. This also runs flawlessly with dual-channel memory and IMO confirms that 144Hz (combined with certain memory configurations) is somehow the causing the crashes.

I've ordered a new DisplayPort cable to see if it resolves the issue at 144Hz, but even if it doesn't I'll be happy with 120Hz since the 5600XT rarely gets above 120 FPS in games I play at 1440p anyway!

EDIT: Sorry to hear about your new issue Tyler. I am on the latest Window 10 update and AMD drivers (I now have the full AMD Overlay etc installed) and have not run into that problem.

EDIT 2: New DisplayPort cable has the exact same issue at 144Hz. I can live with 120Hz so it's all good and no more crashes :)

    Try to unplug all USB gadgets besides keyboard, mouse and headset.

    I don't know if we have the same problem, but on my side USB accessories seems to be linked to the issue.

    Hey folks, its me... again. So I got another DEV ERROR 6068 in CoD Warzone today and of course there's an entry in Event Viewer. ID 4101, same old sh*t like in the past. I didn't change anything as I stated in my previous post. You guys are right - there's nothing wrong with AMDs recording Software aka "AMD Radeon Software". Don't know what to do anymore.

    I have been having driver timeout errors with the event 4101 preceding each CTD as well for a few weeks now. The issues started with an installation of a new graphics card (5700 XT Mech OC edition), and I've been trying to trouble shoot as well. When I first installed the card I was on windows 1909 and the CTD's occurred. They are still occurring after update to 20H2. 

    I've created a reddit post with a summary of troubleshooting steps that I've tried, issue description, specs, and a list of suggestions that I will be trying over the next couple weeks when I have time. I want to make sure that I'm giving idle time to each suggestion so that I can narrow down what the source is. I'm monitoring this discussion and updating my reddit post as progress or other suggestions are make. Here is the Link to Reddit post.

    I have the same exact problem here. I actually recently bought this computer two weeks ago from bestbuy (cyberpower)

    -Specs-

    CPU- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

    RAM- 16GB

    GPU- AMD Radeon 5700xt

       It usually crashes when gaming between 5 to 15min. My screen goes black and I loose audio from my whole computer which then I have no other choice but to restart. 

       The weird thing is tho that It never happens again after I restart my computer (until I go to bed and come back the next morning)

    I have an LG ultrawide monitor 2560x1080 75hz

    I was reading and saw that maybe it could be narrowed down by peripherals idk..

    Already tried all the driver uninstalls and re-installs and the issue still persists.  

    I have the exact same problem but with 5600 xt. Also 4101 in Event Viewer, so perhaps if you checked it out, i think you'd find the same error there. You say that you bought your pc two weeks ago, and that issue appeared on my pc around three weeks ago after updating Windows, so unless something in my pc broke on that day, i guess that's an issue with Windows? Especially since it disappears after rebooting.
