Sending faxes using Windows 11.

I do like William do; make your document in a PDF but make it as a fax page with FAX on the top and a few FAX looking additions. Then I email it to the company in question using info@ or admin@ and their web address. In the cover text I say that this is to be looked at coming into their FAX tray. Such use for my part is for 80% to medical facilities, who often will not advise an email address but a fax number to their clients, which is ridiculous, since today most people do not have a fax machine or a fixed land phone line usable for a fax. The company will get the FAX(e-mail) to the right desk anyway. I use windows 11 and New Outlook with the option ticked so I can see that the email (FAX) has actually arrived in the company's email in-tray. To me it just shows how ridiculous the system is and why I believe that at least paying subscribers to the Microsoft 365 plan should have a Microsoft FAX program readily available in their otherwise large group of various programs. What "policy matters"?

What kind of business would spend money on making a brand new software on a dying landline and dying fax machine that will also not bring you any money because you want it for free service?

Silicon valley makes all kinds of free services --- for new and exciting areas where growth is exponential, not where declines are exponential.

I have a telephone landline and a Telstra modem, but I really don't think that helps. Since I do not have many faxes I need to send as faxes, I use the free fax service picked up om the internet where I can send 10 emails based faxes on a single email address, here my @outlook.com email address. Since I do have an abundance of other old, but still valid email adresses, from google, telstra, bigpond etc. I should have no real worries with 10 faxes allowed for each free of charge, However, I think that Microsoft is bogged down in som policy matters, why they do not make a simple readily accessable email program. I managed to get the Fax program to install but it requires a valid fax account with a fax communication company. Yet another Microsloth free app that does nothing at all at a user level.

No, for the last 30 years windows fax software simply requires a landline. Nothing more, nothing less.

The problem isn't with Microsoft. The problem is you no longer have a landline.

As I said on page 4, Microsoft moved stuff around and the documentation is stuck pre-pandemic.

Most of the posts in this thread found the newer spot for 23h2, but you have 24h2 (and windows moved stuff around again and you couldn't find it again).

But guess what? You found the newest spot in 24h2, but you don't tell other people where you found it.

Open MS word and the document you need to fax, Choose Print, then choose Fax...
