My Windows 11 laptop will no longer connect to Wi-Fi. It says "You're connected using a virtual network adapter that we can't test." I have restarted my laptop and rebooted the modem, neither worked. Any help on what to do next?

Hi! I just had the exact same issue and was able to solve it. I have yet to find a forum that has solved this issue using this method that I just figured it out on my own so I'm happy to share what I did.

    1. Go to Device Manager >> Network Adapters
    2. Click on the dropdown menu. Find the network adapter that isn't functioning. You can find this out by right clicking on a network adapter and selecting Properties and under Device status it will tell you that it is either working properly or not.
    3. Once you have found the network adapter that isn't working, select the Driver tab then Update Driver.
    4. Select Browse my computer for drivers >> Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
    5. It will show you a list of drivers on your device available to choose from
    6. Pick one to install and keep trying different versions until you find one that works. Once you do, you should be able to connect to the internet and the Wi-fi tile should return. And if you right click on the new Wi-Fi network adapter version you just installed listed in Device Manager, under Properties it should say that the device is working properly.

I didn't have to restart my computer or modem anything I just needed to install a different version of the network adapter that wasn't working.

    Hope that helps!!!!

It is saying all drivers are working properly. But the wifi and bluetooth options are disabled. Not showing in the quick settings.

It worked around 8:30 am this morning.

I have tried the following solutions with no avail:

    1. Opening the Device Manager, disabling and enabling the Network Adapters.
    2. Opening the Settings, System, Troubleshoot, , Other troubleshooters, Network and Internet > RUN.
    3. Disconnecting the Modem/Router and restarting it. Restarting my laptop.

The only change is that I have added a USB-C HDMI Adapter to connect my monitor and laptop.

I've tried another solution, it's just a little bit different cause it didn't work when I update the network adaptor and maybe this will work in your case too. I tried to uninstall the network adapter for my WiFi (it can be known in control panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Wi-Fi > Properties).

    • To uninstall, you just need to do the step that written above (not to update, but to uninstall).
    • After your network adapter gone from the list, click Action > Scan for hardware changes and it will appear again in the list.
    • Open the WiFi connection > connect to your WiFi > reenter the password.

Hope it works in your laptop
