All USB devices Disconnect randomly on Windows 11.

All of my USB devices randomly disconnect and will sometimes reconnect on their own in 10-20 seconds. Other times when they do not reconnect I have to completely restart the PC to get devices back working. I have tried uninstalling drivers for the USB roothubs and devices with no luck of a fix. I have not seen this issue addressed elsewhere or corrected. Other instances have not been similar to mine and this issue was non existent before upgrading to Win11. I even did a repair install of Win11 with no luck either. Any help or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

    Update:

Still no disconnects since my last post. I am really starting to think it was my HyperX Haste 1 mouse at fault. I might switch back to see if the issue will reappear. If that will happen, than that is a strong indicator it was a hardware issue caused by that mouse [at least in my case].

If anyone else can confirm that a USB device [try to remember what new USB device you started using before these issues appeared] causes these issues, then I think we got a resolution, or at least a strong lead to fixing this wretched issue.

I just noticed that since a few days 4-5 I haven't had one disconnect even though I use my front USB switch from time to time for my USB Sticks and external SSD.

But as you said after, I won't consider this fixed since it might just reoccur at any time.

I know that before this improvement, I had a day where it would happen a lot. It sometimes would go one after another. But after that day, it happened twice, then nothing...

BTW, I don't know if I ever mentioned, but when my USB's disconnect even videos that are playing stop just until the USB's functionality is back. But this might just be a feature of the web/player.

Well, hopefully this will slowly be resolved because it's an annoyance to work with and it's putting data at risk.

KUDOS to everyone participating in this. I hope our headaches will go away soon.

L.E.: My brother just made me realize that the issue might've been my HyperX Haste 1 mouse, because I've switched it back to an older mouse I had for years and it's coincidentally the same period that the issue stopped happening. I'll re-edit this comment or make a new one in case the issue starts happening again with this mouse.

I tried to search for core isolation and found this:

    Image

On clicking it, this is what I got

    Image

    My specs:

    Processor AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.70 GHz

    Installed RAM 32.0 GB

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

    Edition Windows 11 Pro N

    Version 23H2

    OS build 22631.4037

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1027.0

If my computer isn't compatible with that spec, I wonder what is. I have tried to enable core isolation but with no luck. The USB failing is driving me nuts because my backups aren't running. This is RIDICULOUS and MS should be ashamed for keeping the tradition alive of having every alternative version a failure.

    Any thoughts on this?

OK, it seems like I was a little premature with my last comment! It now seems that when connecting a USB thumb drive to the front USB 3.0 ports on my desktop PC I can manage data transfers in either direction without any issues. HOWEVER..., the same cannot be said if I plug-in my mobile phone into these same ports, doing so sees a reoccurrence of the annoying connect and disconnect problem every second or two.

To confuse this issue further, I've noticed that connecting my mobile phone to the USB ports on my Dell monitor does not cause any of these issues. My monitor is connected to the rear facing USB ports on the back of my PC.

Maybe is a Intel CPU + ASUS Motherboard problem.
13th and 14th Intel cpu generation.

    I have i9 13900kf and Motherboard ASUS z790p

I haven't usb problem from 3 weeks, but I have an random applications crash and "STATUS ACCESS VIOLATION" random internet problem. (random appears on all browser expecially when I'm browsing on Linkedin, Facebook, Upwork, Youtube and other social or website with services that require a constant input and output data traffic (as if suddendly the power to the network card stopped, like what happends with USB port)

I found a Reddit post when other people have same problem and same cpu intel + asus mb.

https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/1cy9twz/constant_crashes_on_chrome_status_access/On this post i found a interested link:

    https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/June-2024-Guidance-regarding-Intel-Core-13th-and-14th-Gen-K-KF/m-p/1607807
    I
don't know when I can change the voltage setting and I'm afraid of making mistrake and messing things up.

MAYBE the usb issue and this issues are connected...

When ASUS MB website will be online, I'll found a new BIOS update
