I have the same errors popping up.

The only reason even noticed this is because I can't get the latest Windows Update to finish installing on my system. It downloads and installs from the Windows Update Screen fine, but after it prompts me to Restart my PC to finish the update, it gets stuck right after my boot screen and never finishes updating - I get about 3 minutes of a spinning circle and then I eventually get BSOD with a "DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE" error. After a couple failed attempts, it goes into Auto-Repair and uninstalls the update.

I also have thousands of CPU TLB / WHEA errors in the HWINFO sensor monitor, as well as WHEA warnings/errors in the Windows Event Viewer (referencing Memory).

I ran all sorts of diagnostics, setting things to default, ran memtest86, ran a couple benchmarking programs, disabling sleep and hibernation and fast boots, and running scan disks and detect-repair commands, but nothing is coming up with any errors or any corruptions.

I thought it was a hardware issue at first, but after seeing this thread, I'm thinking it's a Microsoft software problem?

The weird thing is my system seems to be running perfectly fine otherwise. I just can't get the last Windows update to install.

I'm following this hoping there's a solution soon!

Has there been any fix provided ? Just couple of days back updated to Windows 11 Home 23H2 and thought that will take care of it but still getting the random system hangs and have to do force reboot. Connected with Windows support but they were blaming it on some third party software whereas I haven't installed any third party software off lately. Is MS even taking it as their own fault ?

Mine started in mid December and has not been resolved yet. I tried the URL you listed and the other one a couple posts back. We are out of luck until Microsoft figures out how to fix the error on their side.

    Hello!

I also have such lines in the Event View. What could be the reason for the errors?

Question: can the error be due to the "Management Engine Interface" or "Intel Chipset Driver", and the updates that are associated with them. Or is it not related to this at all?

By the way, I have two folders along this path - "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Device Metadata", there are two folders "Device Metadata" and "ActiveDownloads". "The ActiveDownloads folder is empty. And in "Device Metadata" there are lines that are in the screenshot.

    Image

I have the same lines in the Event View as DaveM121...

Windows update has failed several times to install and I get this error encountered message (0x80070643)

I have plenty of room in the partition 4 recovery on Disk 0.

    In Event Viewer I get...

    Warning DeviceSetupManager Event ID 201

    Warning DistributedCOM Event ID 10016

Error WindowsUpdateClient Event ID 20 Windows Update Agent

    And...

Metadata staging failed, result=0x80072F78 for container '{30219C65-47B1-5F88-828C-36B29B335B5D}'

I've been using the Microsoft Store from day 1 of my Win 11 installation and I'm getting the DeviceSetupManager errors in the event viewer so what does the MS Store have to do with anything here to fix this problem?
