    Hi Shivam,

This issue looks to be caused by a recent Windows Update patch. It is all explained in this Microsoft Community posting:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/device-setup-manager-metadata-staging-failed-event/67212749-06b1-48c6-9033-f560badb8751

The Metadata Staging URL (specified in a registry value): http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=252669&clcid=0x409

    Redirects to: https://devicemetadataservice.trafficmanager.net/dms/metadata.svc

The 2nd URL is broken and Microsoft needs to fix it as they have had to do many times in the past going all the way back to 2015.

Disabling Metadata Staging will have unexpected results on many areas of the Windows operating systems, not just when adding printers which are often taking as along as 10 min to finish getting themselves setup. I have been also noticing posts about system shutdowns taking longer too because of this.

Everyone who reads this, please contact Microsoft and demand that that 2nd URL gets fixed quickly or demand that they release a patch with the correct URL if they've recently made changes to the process. Thank you.

The same problem. Tried to reinstall windows from scratch and it didn't show that error until I installed all windows updates. After that it started to spam with that error.

I also have the same issue, except on a brand-new installation of windows 11 as of 12/6/2023.

    I have the same error,

but it's even worse, after starting the computer I found that the video driver is not working,

apart from it windows broke, discord won't start, even reinstalling discord doesn't help, during the installation an error keeps popping up...

there are unknown accounts in the folder permissions, and a bunch of ntfs error entries in the logs,

I don't know if it's related to the update,

but I couldn't restorehealth even through restorehealth, it refuses to work

ending the scan at 3 percent....

Has anyone else had something like this ?
