My name is Jon Hansen, I am a user of MS-Windows 10.
As stated on this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-10-22h2
WinRE is the Windows Recovery Environment. The update fails if there's insufficient free space in the WinRE partition.
Sadly, what Microsoft is not sharing is that an OEM partner like Dell, HP, ASUS, and/or others. May have something to do with adjusting the WinRE space.
Basically my observation is that the hardware vendors are not fixing this issue hoping that we will upgrade our laptops or workstations. :)
I have seen several suggested work-arounds for adjusting the WinRE size. They do not seem to work due to the "OEM" possible conflicts.
Has good instructions. They did not work on my laptop.
I may be wrong, however, this time the blame seems to be on the hardware, and not with Microsoft.
Looking to get a new laptop in the coming months.
Best of success... and remember, it is not you, it is them.
Cheers.
