Hello,

The 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441) will not install on my Windows 10 laptop computer.

I get the following message There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070643) Retry

When I click on Retry it says its Installing-0% for a few minutes then Installed-100% and then I get Download Error (0x80070643) There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070643) Retry

Windows Update Troubleshooter could not fix this problem.

I'm not sure what to do, please help.

Thank you

And! After all the bleating it still remains UNFIXED... What use is this community website when it does NOTHING to improve the Status Quo in this, all we do is complain & reiterate our problem, but the So-Called experts do very little to improve the situation...

MS NEEDS to step up NOW & fix their stuff up, which many of us cannot understand enough to do anything about!!!

I tried contacting support and she tried to have me troubleshoot why this update was not going threw and then I told her it said troubleshooter could not identify the problem. Then she said well I will need to transfer you to our technical support and said I would see when she left the chat and was transferring me over in a couple minutes. I waited over an hour and nothing! I tried sending another message in chat and said message could not be delivered. Not Happy! Microsoft needs needs to focus on finally getting us with windows 10 all an automatic fix for this January security update!!! I mean its March 1st and they have had awhile now to work on getting this done, I mean what is the hold up!!

Yes, Michael E, MS are exceptionally good at doing this, fobbing you off with a phone transfer is one of their well-used insults to their customers... I've had support Techs, "Mainly Indian" who have left me stranded in the middle of a fault solving call, just said, "I'll be back in a minute" and then nothing... As you said, "Call back was ignored for some BS reason"... This is how much big corps. treat their customers, MS just one of many...

I don't think we will ever get a fixit for this MS designed fault, it's in the "too hard to do basket".... And, this community website is totally useless, it may as well not be taking up anyones bandwidth!!!

The sound of them and MS NOT doing anything is deafening...

Here it is March 1st, 2024. A security update to Bitlocker back in January 2024 still wont install due to Recovery partition size. My situation is that my recovery partition is the first partition on a raid, and resizing is a nightmare. I wonder what Windows would be like if Xerox had kept the OS they originally developed? I'm wondering if it is time to get steamOS so I can play my games, and a Linux distro to manage my files and data?
