I have a Brother HL-L2370DW purchased in 2020 also having the same problem. Have done everything stated also-changed USB port-uninstall and reinstall printer, updated Firmware, unchecked printer status notifications. This worked fine on my old WIN 10 computer, bought a new WIN 11 computer and this is when it started.
GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.
My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!
End.

If your printer is printing a sheet with the text "GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost," it's likely that the printer is receiving a print request from a device or application that is attempting to communicate with its eSCL (AirPrint) scanning capabilities.
eSCL stands for "Enhanced Scan Command Language" and is an Apple technology used for scanning documents over a local network. It is part of the AirPrint protocol, which allows Apple devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers to print and scan without the need for additional drivers.
There are a few possible reasons why this is happening:
- Misconfigured or buggy software: It's possible that a device or application on your network is attempting to communicate with the printer's scanning capabilities, but the request is misconfigured or contains errors. This could be due to a software glitch or a misbehaving application.
- Network scanning request: Another possibility is that there is a device or application on your network that is actively trying to scan a document using the eSCL protocol. This request might have been initiated accidentally or without your knowledge.
- Network security issue: In some cases, this type of behavior could be an indication of a security issue, such as an unauthorized device or user attempting to access your printer's scanning functionality.
To troubleshoot the issue, you can take the following steps:
- Check your network: Ensure that there are no unauthorized devices connected to your network. Review the list of connected devices in your router settings and look for any unfamiliar ones.
- Update firmware and software: Make sure that your printer's firmware and any related software are up-to-date. Manufacturers often release updates that address various issues and vulnerabilities.
- Disable eSCL (AirPrint) if not needed: If you do not need AirPrint or scanning capabilities on your printer, consider disabling them in the printer's settings.
- Check for misconfigured applications: If you suspect a specific device or application is causing the issue, review its settings or reinstall it to rule out any configuration errors.
- Network security measures: Consider implementing additional security measures on your network, such as enabling WPA2/WPA3 encryption and using strong passwords.
If the issue persists and you are unable to identify the source of the print requests, contacting your printer's manufacturer's support or seeking assistance from a knowledgeable IT professional may be helpful in resolving the problem.

2023-07-30T14:25:39+00:00 Nothing I have done has stopped it. I even removed the driver. My next step will be to install Linux. This is costing me too much money, and wasting my printer paper, and ink. I even turn the printer off. I guess microsoft is not as green as they claim.
