We upgraded to 24H2 and now our SCR3310 card reader is no longer recognized and we now cannot log in with our CAC card. Is there a fix?
We downloaded latest drivers, removed and reinstalled the driver, tried different USB ports. It shows up as working properly in Device Mgr but that's it. The light won't come on, it ignores the reader. Help.

Just doing step 4 (Download the most recent driver version from SCR3310v2.0 USB Smart Card Reader Drivers, Downloads, Support | Identiv (should be version 9)) fixed it on my computer w/o any additional intervention. The version is 9.02 w/ a date of June '24.

Microsoft have probably corrected issue between first availability of upgrade (november) and begin of December.
@JHTN give an answer for how to resolve issue :
-Run Regedit.exe:
• Go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais
-Check the permissions for LOCAL SERVICE (if not there, add it). Make it "Full Control":
• Right-click on the key (Calais) and select "Permissions..." from the pop-up menu
• Click on LOCAL SERVICE to select it
• Allow "Full Control"
-Reboot computer

It appears the Dec 2024 update for 24H2 corrected the issue. So is was Microsoft’s fault…

I just did the update. I tried my SCR3310, a travel card reader, and my Yubikey and none of them work. Going to have to roll back.
