Documents disappearing from print queue and not printing

Yay everybody!!!! I finally found a solution to my printing problems. I simply did a system restore back to the 10th June 2020, and BINGO. Printer is working once again.

A big thank you to all who put forward ideas in an effort to help me. I'm afraid to say though, that nothing which I tried worked. But one useful thing which did emerge though was that WUshowhide program. I knew nothing about it until I logged on the the Microsoft Community. So, with a bit of luck, I'll be able to utilize that tool to stop these most recent, yet troublesome updates (KB4559309 & KB4497165) from reloading should they try to.

Well if no option came up to uninstall you could have a look at the suggestions listed HERE.  The basic Unistall option was available on my system - though I did note that it wasn't available for some of the other updates.

That didn't work either. When I went through the Advance Startup procedure, I got a message that the file I was trying to uninstall, viz: KB4497165 was not able to be uninstalled. Arrrrrrgh!

Did you get KB4567512-- which cures the problem in 1903/1909? Click for it at Windows Update. Check at "START, Settings, Update & Security, View Update History" to see whether it has come in.

If it won't come in -- then block the other one (KB4560960) with WUShowHide (as I posted earlier). Otherwise, that will come back with the problem.

No, I haven't received that update. The two which I have received, and which seem to be the cause of my printing issues, viz: KB4559309 & KB4497165, are still there, and (up until the time of this posting), I have simply been unable to uninstall them. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

(1) I guess it doesn't hurt to investigate them first. But any particular update may work for some & not for others. I normally take what is offered & would uninstall it only if problems developed. It did happen at least once to me.

(2) Hmm -- we're in the same boat with KB4567512. I reverted back to 1909 just now because 2004 became horribly unstable. I click for it, but KB4567512 hasn't shown up. But I don't suffer the printing problem & haven't needed to block the other.

Yeah, click for it now/then, eventually it must come.
