Asphalt 9 app also stopped working after 23rd Windows update, which is not a Microsoft app. Crash log says because of CONCRT140_APP.dll. On 2 computers:

core i5-1135G7, windows 11: microsoft apps work but other store apps like Asphalt 9 stopped working after 23rd update

core2duo E8400, windows 10: most apps stopped working

Amazes me how much I relyed on the calculator for scientific math and programmer modes. Had to install the Window 7 calculator with the D/Q/Binary bits layout display missing in the Windows 10 calculator. That is extremely helpful with setting MCU control register bits.

Microsoft has just updated Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 UWP Runtime Package so this can be solved manually, until they release an automatic update.

Follow these steps (got from here: https://michlstechblog.info/blog/windows-download-appx-packages-from-microsoft-store-example-install-the-new-windows-terminal-offline/)

    1. Go here and search for PackageFamilyName "Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00_8wekyb3d8bbwe" (without the quotation marks).
    2. Download Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00_14.0.33519.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx
    3. Open Powershell with admin rights, go to the folder where you downloaded that package and type:

    Add-AppxPackage Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00_14.0.33519.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.Appx

It will install the package and you will be able to run all your Apps normally again. The problem was with package version Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00_14.0.33321.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe, installed by the Microsoft Store around January 23-25.

Thanks for the recent posts about Visual C++ runtime which lead me to find the solution.

    Enjoy! Regards.
