Asphalt 9 app also stopped working after 23rd Windows update, which is not a Microsoft app. Crash log says because of CONCRT140_APP.dll. On 2 computers:

core i5-1135G7, windows 11: microsoft apps work but other store apps like Asphalt 9 stopped working after 23rd update

core2duo E8400, windows 10: most apps stopped working

Can you confirm that your PC CPU is a Core 2 Duo or a Core 2 Quad. I've confirmed that the computers that we are having these issues on is also these early processors.

Hmmm.... interesting that if this were a problem with Intel Core 2 processors, why change the system requirements for the last build of Windows 10? Before I upgraded from Windows 7 64-bit to Windows 10 64-bit, I used the compatibility checker to assure myself that Windows 10 did support my processor, as it did at that time.

Sure, my machine is running Core 2 Quad 6600, and yes, they are old. However, the machine has stood the test of time and has been very stable with every version of Windows 10 to come out, except for the last Cumulative Update in January 2024.

As others have stated, we are being forced to buy a new computer and pay money for Windows 11, but we did not have to pay for Windows 10 under the free upgrade during Windows 10 release.

I guess all is fair when it comes to others dictating our upgrade paths, not.

To all others in the same situation as I, good luck in thinking Microsoft will fix this.

I have two old computers running windows 10 home edition that have this problem. But only one of them has an intel core 2 quad processor. The other one has a core 2 duo processor. Just like everyone else on this thread, both of mine developed these issues just a few days ago.
