KB4566782 Update Loop

My laptop is running Windows 10 2004 OS build 19041.388 and windows update decides to automatically install cumulative update KB4566782 (build 19041.450). The installation will fail (0x800f081f) during updating Windows and Windows update automatically retry to install it until my laptop's battery dies.

How get out of this update loop?

update: We need a true solution, and please do not mark reinstalling windows 10 as an answer, dear moderators.

    Thanks for the update Holly! Earlier, you had said the Update was KB4566783 but are you saying it is KB4566782. Can you double check on that for me? All you have to do, is go to the Settings from your Start menu and go to Update & Security and in there, you can check to see your latest installed updates. It will tell you if that number ends in 782 or 783. 

    You also had said you had a relative who was going to check that for you. If so, what was his thoughts as to the Update not installing earlier?

    I just got an email  from Microsoft with my case number concerning the update that wouldn't install, and I mentioned that although the update KB4566782 was installed on my computer that another Microsoft Community Forum member's update was still not installing (yours) so maybe they will go back and see why it's not installing on all computers (as of yesterday anyway).

    PS: This email stated my case was closed as I had emailed them that I was able to install the update, and they wanted to know how satisfied I was with their service--which I had to say was good because the update was installed the next day. I always thought that any help you got from Microsoft after warranty you had to pay for----but not the case---- guess because it concerned an update they put out to protect computers.

    Maybe it is a slightly different update for different systems . Mine is: Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for X 64 based systems.

    Or maybe they are trying mine out to see if it works before sending to others as I notified Microsoft and got a case number.  I have since notified them by email that mine is fixed.

    That's interesting Holly! I just gave mine a check but it's still downloading the 782 one, so this is destined to fail. I'm kind of surprised they haven't sent this out to everyone unless there's something I have to do to clear the recent update & I'm not sure how to do that yet. I'm glad it's a go for you!
