When I start up the game it tells me to press any button to start. I press a button and then it tells me to insert the disk and press continue. I don't have a disk because I purchased the premium Deluxe Edition online it's bought-and-paid-for it says the game is installed but everytime I press continue it just pops up again please insert disc.

Thanks Jan for that bit of information. The program download process is so unnecessarily cumbersome and flawed. If anything occurs during the reinstallation You're done. You can't back out or go forward, like me, you're stuck in a loop. Even the MSFS Team hasn't been able  help me. I'm not even sure if I buy a fresh SSD and reload Wind10 from scratch I can recover my MSFS program from the Microsoft store or XBOX game.  Richard Ziller

I have Bitdefender and there I turned off the "firewall" and it suddenly worked.

Here is the fix from Bitdefender support:

    -open Bitdefender

    -click Protection

    -click Settings under Firewall

    -click Settings again

-set the Default Application Behaviour to Allow

-set the Network Adapters to Home/Office.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security instead and have added the MS FS application to the trusted apps.

But I still get the issue of the request to insert a disk I don't have.

I realised that Kaspersky is blocking and deleting an error report generated by the FS app everytime I try to start it.

    The file is located in:

    C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\Flight%20Simulator%20Problem308420654215141040\Flight%20Simulator%20Problem((Autorecovered-308420823200539728)).asd

I included this file in the exclusions list but it keeps getting a slightly different name every time it is produced, so I cannot check what its content is. I am assuming it is an error report of sorts.

Does anyone have any idea how to get hold of this file in order to troubleshoot the FS app wanting a disk?

    Hi!

I had the same problems with Bitdefender, the firewall didn't allow it to go online, so I contacted Bitdefender's support, and they gave me this solution to fix the problem:

To troubleshoot the encountered situation, please follow these steps:

    -open Bitdefender

    -click Protection

    -click Settings under Firewall

    -click Settings again

-set the Default Application Behaviour to Allow

-set the Network Adapters to Home/Office.
