Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    ha. it must be getting closer, i replied to forza and told them there is no update showing. I will try again later or tomorrow. Waited this long so a bit longer wont hurt. It is such a shame because it is a fantastic game,good game play and graphics are the best ive seen.

    So, there was an update? I haven't even gotten whatever update they pushed yet. Was a bit of a **** move to get the game in working state for a lot of the people who had problems and then take it away after 2 days.

    How surprising that a cracked pirated version is running better than the actual official release... /s. 

    Its seriously pathetic what Microsoft and Turn10 are doing here.

    Hi i have done every thing that they have said ..new windows.given control to them contacted loads of so called experts ..they havent got a clue what to do so they pass you on to another lot. nothing they have said or done has worked. I was being helped by xbox or forza cant remember which they said they would get back to me ,but vanished. i have asked again on forza and just got reply that doesnt make any sense. Never have this bad support from steam.
