Switching out of S mode : Blank screen

I talked to support today, and my husband in IT also found that this is a known issue, and the Microsoft tech said they should be releasing an update next Tuesday that includes a fix for this.

I am having the same issue with my lenova ideapad that I purchased yesterday (was not warned about s mode when purchasing) for a quick fix until I can buy a more hardy desktop (was looking into switching from apple products). 3 disconnected phone calls later with tech support and on hold now for over an hour on the 4th try now. 

Hey guys little update : once actually getting through customer service they were able to get me out of S Mode. 

They accessed my laptop virtually and were able to do a clean install of windows 10 and then switch me out of S Mode the normal way through the Microsoft Store. You will have to do all your updates before being able to switch out still. Apparently the version installed by manufacturers were corrupted.

To my knowledge you can do a clean install yourself at home and dont need to spend 5+ hours on the phone with customer care as I did. Just note you will need to save any important docs you have before doing it as it basically puts it back to factory settings.

Whenever I open the Microsoft store to switch out of S-mode. A Button reading "learn more" appears, however whenever I click this the store loads a completely blank gray screen, is there another option to switch out of S-mode, or is the link to the store broken?

I received my brand new Acer Aspire from Amazon yesterday. I was so excited to have a computer again after one of my 4 Rottweilers, who have the grace of a refrigerator rolling down a steep hill, bumped into my coffee table, knocking my previous laptop to the floor and breaking the screen. I, like many others, work from home and was so excited to be able to catch up. After about 10 minutes of setting my beautiful new machine up, my happy bubble burst because I can get nothing done due to S Mode. I am feeling so frustrated that I can't get it to go away. I have reset the computer multiple times, tried different suggestions/fixes, followed instructions and once I get to "switch to Windows," I am directed to the windows store, which gives me a blank screen. Every other screen in the store works. I am not a computer savvy person. I don't know what my other options are other than Windows and Apple products. I feel very stuck and without choices and it's a really awful feeling.

This is really funny. I purchased a new laptop yesterday and found that I have to switch out of S-mode to have a normal Win10 OS. Followed the steps to switch and...nope, Microsoft Store has a problem. After several calls to MS support, no resolution. I have a case #, have had two calls "scheduled" from "Tier 2" support that have not occurred. Oh yeah, this is the first Win OS machine that I've purchased since 1999.
