2 days ago i upgraded my windows 10 to build 1903 , since then ,

randomly and during any activity (gaming , watching a video ..etc) ,

screen with the word "locking" in the middle appears for half a second and my laptop goes into sleep mode

and then i have to turn it on again

this never happened before the update , i tried to reset and fresh start but, nothing worked , and now i can't get back to previous build

what do i do ?

HELP , PLEASE

SOLUTION

Hey guys

So, I solved the issue (for me, at least) a long time ago but forgot to report back. My apologies

Basically,

Settings -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change advanced power settings -> battery

Then, change critical battery action and low battery action to do nothing both on battery and plugged in

I don't know if others already solved the problem In a different way, but i Hope that helps

Have a good day

    Hi Greg,

So i tested one more thing, through cmd i disabled hybernate, now interestingly the system lasts for more than 15 mins, but gets shut down automatically meaning no warning has been thrown, it seems the system doesnot detect the laptop charger and somehow keeps count on the battery percentage and when the battery drains completely it gets shutdown..... i am not sure how to reach to people who can solve this and hoping you would know a proper channel.... the feedback i gave has a character limit in its description box so i gave the link of this forum, i hope someone finds it soon and fix this annoying bug.

    Thankyou

If this was caused by the Version 2004 then for 10 days you can roll it back in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then block it as shown here:

    https://www.computerworld.com/article/3232632/how-to-block-the-windows-10-may-2020-update-version-2004-from-installing.html

Some of the problems others are experiencing with with Version 2004 are here:

    https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-2004-were-already-looking-into-these-10-issues-says-microsoft/

    https://www.ghacks.net/2020/05/28/windows-10-version-2004-is-here-and-it-has-lots-of-issues/

If that doesn't work you can also Go Back in Repair Mode as shown here:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanced-startup-options-boot-windows-10-a.html

You can try again in a month but I would not be in a hurry, because there's nothing new in it and plenty of problems.  So you can even wait for the next Version Update.

If you want to report this to Microsoft use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They will not even see it here. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help others with your problems.

If you want to post back a Share link from your Feedback here others who see this thread can vote it up and add to it.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you'll wait to rate whether my post resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
