2 days ago i upgraded my windows 10 to build 1903 , since then ,

randomly and during any activity (gaming , watching a video ..etc) ,

screen with the word "locking" in the middle appears for half a second and my laptop goes into sleep mode

and then i have to turn it on again

this never happened before the update , i tried to reset and fresh start but, nothing worked , and now i can't get back to previous build

what do i do ?

HELP , PLEASE

SOLUTION

Hey guys

So, I solved the issue (for me, at least) a long time ago but forgot to report back. My apologies

Basically,

Settings -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change advanced power settings -> battery

Then, change critical battery action and low battery action to do nothing both on battery and plugged in

I don't know if others already solved the problem In a different way, but i Hope that helps

Have a good day

Incase it helps anyone.. I had this Issue.. I was on a website then the screen just went black it said locking with a circle going around then shut down abruptly. Very odd. An orange light on the side flashed when i tried to power up but nothing, After googling etc I plugged in the charger.. no difference.. Turns out the charger was not plugged in at the plug! (*****) it just closes down with low power. no warning of low battery, doesnt say ‘closing down’ it says ‘locking’ .. bloody stupid and probably freaks people. So for me itvwas just flat battery, if not that simple it could be faulty charger or battery, or connections.. not bloody malware or china locking you up! lol.. keep your hair on. Still stupid microsoft.. if it said ‘power low closing down’ it would be easy to understand, now thousands of people are freaking out. No mistake in my opinion. Hope that helps some one not get on some goose chase :-)

I have had the same issues with "locking" of my laptop. I have a dell. After a TON of research (I am a regular computer person, NOT TECH or even able to understand many of the help posts) but I believe I found the answer! There is a driver update for the display or graphics card that will ONLY INSTALL IF YOU HAVE 10% BATTERY CHARGE AVAILABLE. In my case, my battery doesnt charge (non- dell charger issue) so I am at 0% or I am plugged in with battery removed. This is the only thing unchecked and unupdated on my computer so I will have to get a new battery/charger and then run updates and I believe this will be the fix. BATTERY PROBLEMS...go figure
