2 days ago i upgraded my windows 10 to build 1903 , since then ,

randomly and during any activity (gaming , watching a video ..etc) ,

screen with the word "locking" in the middle appears for half a second and my laptop goes into sleep mode

and then i have to turn it on again

this never happened before the update , i tried to reset and fresh start but, nothing worked , and now i can't get back to previous build

what do i do ?

HELP , PLEASE

SOLUTION

Hey guys

So, I solved the issue (for me, at least) a long time ago but forgot to report back. My apologies

Basically,

Settings -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change advanced power settings -> battery

Then, change critical battery action and low battery action to do nothing both on battery and plugged in

I don't know if others already solved the problem In a different way, but i Hope that helps

Have a good day

It's very frustrating and it's a windows issue that Microsoft does not seem to want to acknowledge or care about. People keep posting about batteries and doing a system restore and going into system unattended sleep timeout and updating drivers etc. None of it makes a difference. It's a Windows fault.

My lid just always stays open half way so it doesn't shut off. Frustrating but I guess it's just how it is. That's until I get a Mac ...

I got the same issue this morning and it was solved by a very incredibly simple solution.

The problem: the battery was 0 but there was no notification about it, something went wrong in Win 10

Solution: plug in and charge the battery

Lesson learnt: maybe your battery or electricity goes wrong and it triggered the window to lock it to maintain (keeping everything in the previous status)

It must be something to do with the battery . My screen will only lock when my computer is almost dead
