update 1903 sound problem

I have just updated to 1903, and have lost all sound. I have a Creative Audigy2 ZS Pro, yes, I know it's old, but it was working perfectly on build 1809.

After this 1903 update, no sound, so I went back to 1809, and hey presto, I got my sound back. I then tried the very latest 1903 build, but lost the sound again. Have MS got an answer? I will have to go back to 1809 if I want to hear anything, but can wait a day or so if anyone at MS can give me a solution.

It's a 10 year old Creative X- fi platinum.   The computer said it had the latest update.  Then I went to The Creative Website, found the software for this card, downloaded it, installed it and then restarted the computer. On their website the date on the software package is March 2019.  It works fine now.  Good luck!

Hi, I just found this forum thread with a solution for EMU cards.

It involves grabbing a Creative driver for a different card (X-FI Titanium) that was fixed for 1903 and combining it with the latest EMU driver in a specific way.

I haven't tried it yet, because I rolled back to 1809 for now. Can you please confirm back to me if it's working for you?

    I hope I could help.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have XFI titanium Fatality Pro and 2h ago i updated to 1903 and noticed no sound, Realtek on motherboard did work..but I want use 5.1 sounds +sound HW acceleration..so i uninstalled drivers and reinstalled, didnt help, only rolled back to previous release fixed problem totally.

I noticed at ver 1903 Jack info at Speaker Properties was wrong, showed only rear speaker, after rollbacking I saw all speakers in that info list.

Old card and I have been fearing this happening..that I need to buy new card and speaker system, fingers crossed creative updates my drivers, its pure driver problem.

Would something like this also work with the old PCI X-Fi cards?

My sound card is X-Fi Xtreme Music PCI.

I also have the same problem that no sound comes out after updating 1809 to 1903 today. Of course it worked perfectly on 1809.

I tried following the Bryan86_HU's guide, but DON'T WORK. :(  I tested with the official Audigy RX and the latest X-Fi Xtreme Music official driver, both failed.

Windows update even don't provide any driver available. Microsoft must fix this serious bug ASAP. It looks like I have to go back to 1809 for now.
