is it possible remove the new "Wireless Projection Banner" introduced in 1809 or at the very least move it so that it does pop-up every time I touch a tab in my browser?

Even after disconnecting from display the banner was there. The setting gear and the pin icon were not "clickable". I had to kill ShellExperienceHost.exe to get rid of the banner.

    1. Go to File Explorer. Then go to your C: Drive> Windows> System32. Alternatively, you can copy and paste C:\Windows\System32 into the search bar at the top of the window.
    2. Locate the file Windows.Internal.PlatformExtension.MiracastBannerExperience.dll.
    3. Right-click the file and then change the owner of the file by navigating to Properties> Security> Advanced.
    4. At the top change the Owner to Administrators (You may have to type 'Administrators' in the textbox at the bottom)
    5. Give 'Full Access' permissions to Administrators.
    6. Rename the file extension to Windows.Internal.PlatformExtension.MiracastBannerExperience.old.
    7. Reboot for the taskbar to be removed.

    Hope this helps. Thanks.

I reconnected to the device I was previously connected to and then clicked the disconnect button on the projection toolbar itself. The toolbar then disappears. Problem solved!!
