is it possible remove the new "Wireless Projection Banner" introduced in 1809 or at the very least move it so that it does pop-up every time I touch a tab in my browser?

i had the same problem but it can be fixed by restarting Windows Explorer in task manager:

click shift+cntrl+esc to open task manager > click Windows explorer > click restart, I hope this helps! :)

I had this problem, too. After disconnecting, the control banner remained and couldn't be unpinned or dismissed.

I got rid of it by opening Task Manager and, after making sure the "More details" button was selected, selecting the "Windows Shell Experience Host" process and clicking "End Task". The process status was then shown to be "Suspended". I don't know if anything else was affected--I didn't notice any problems--but the annoying control banner went away.

It worked for me! It was driving me nuts.

I've found a simpler solution (work-around).  From the task manager, just restart the windows explorer process.  Worked like a charm.  But, yeah, as everyone has pretty much stated, c'mon MS get your act together!

    Cheers,

    David

This is a huge problem especially since I work in a school district where all of our schools and teachers use Surface tablets and wireless projection for instruction.  We've had issues where the bar won't disappear or tapping the pin doesn't remove it, and that has resulted in a major issue when the bar blocks browser tabs and toolbars that they need to teach with.  Microsoft needs to make this an optional feature where we can toggle it off or on.  At the very least, they should allow us to move the bar elsewhere on the screen.
