I'm glad that worked for you & others. I didn't have to do any of that. Backup & Restore (Win 7) worked for me in 1809 twice - & I've got Files on Demand turned on & all the "choose folders" checked. I rename them for ID purposes (they have to be renamed back for use)...

So I thought maybe you coincidentally had made the backup into a new folder the first time it worked for you. I thought making it into the same folder that held a 1803 backup would confuse the app. So I copied my 1803 (17134.320) backup, renamed the copy to "WindowsImageBackup", & made a 1809 backup into that folder. I was surprised to see it worked. I guess there was indeed something about your OneDrive that required you to do all that.

I opened the previous version of that backup in the Properties of C:, & all my OneDrive folders & files appear to be there. That's surprising because they are supposed to be On-Demand. And I know they aren't being currently read in, because I deleted "New Text Document.txt" from the current OneDrive - yet there it is in the backup. It can be clicked & opened. There's just one word in it.

Edit 11/14/18: OK, they were On-Demand, but I hadn't right-clicked the folders & selected "free up space" which is what makes them online only. After that & making a new image, accessing a "previous version" does this...

04: In my unknowledgeable quest for the option "Files on demand", viz.

       OneDrive > Account > Choose Folders > I additionally untick'd everything here.

    Thank you very much RoddyS,

That's what finally did the trick!

I've unticked the folders , closed OneDrive, and now the backup finally works!

I guess it's crucial to also untick the folders for the fix to work.

I can declare it now as a working fix :)

It's not a fix, only for some.

I specifically opened OneDrive, signed in, disabled "Files on demand", tried backup again and still the same bloody error.

In my case after the 1809 update the same error  0x80070013 No disk problems why suggest this ??

Or does this error message can mean a disk error  or a write acces problem as wel instead of pointing to the right cause: a simple OneDrive chek mark?

Strange! 3 complete different things  causes?

Solved in my case with the OneDrive solution Thanks for the strange cause and the time i spend on this to find this page ;-)

What is the real cause of above error message?

1 Disk problem? in my case No

2 Acces rights problem? in my case No

3 OneDrive a chek mark in my case Yes!

4 What to do with the chek mark in OneDrive settings ? What happens if i chek it back ON

or when it wil be set to default ON with the next Windows 10 Update ? Will my back-ups then fail again?

It woud be nice to get a clear anser from above from MS?

    Thanks!

    Best regards,

    Leendert van den Doel

This problem with the new 1809 version is not connected to OneDrive.

I didn't have a problem to backup in 1803 version where OneDrive users have had.

I don't even use OneDrive. It's not in the task tray, and when I open it, it's not even connected to my account.

It's a new bug introduced in 1809 and nothing I tried can fix it.

I really hope Microsoft will fix it.

The option to back up is still shown; therefor let us hope this fault gets repaired soon.
