My epson perfection v700 scanner (that allows me to scan photos, negatives, documents, etc.) and that I paid over $800 for) stopped working with teh latest update two days ago. I've downloaded a new driver and other software from Epson and it doesn't work. Can I uninstall this update? I like my scanner a whole lot more than I like Windows.

Getting to end-September and still waiting for Microsoft and/or Epson to do something about this infuriating problem.

Epson's response today was: "Okay, I am having a feeling something to do with the windows update has knocked some things around a little. We have in the past advised to contact windows to see if they can see what is stopping the product from operating correctly as the drivers and patch should resolve the issue."

Using Photoshop Elements or Foxit doesn't seem to work, not with V100 scanner.

Nor does Administrator mode. Nor does Windows 8 compatibility mode.

    Nor does reinstalling the drivers.

Just one positive thing though: scanner and Epson software do usually work OK in B/W mode, though never in grayscale or color.

    It's so annoying.

Thanks for posting this information. What version of Foxit are you using? I cannot see this option in the free version.

What I suspect is happening is that Foxit is using the Windows WIA scanner. To access the WIA scanner go to Control panel/Devices and printers/double click the scanner icon (if scanner is turned on) Then you can use the WIA scanner to scan files to a specific location.

Otherwise Epson scan might work if yo run it as administrator. Right click/run as administrator.

    Kind regards

    Chris
