Windows 10 1803 Update Error 0xc1900101

Windows 10 1803 update gives this message  0xc1900101. Then windows update starts the download again.

Then it's message 0x80070005.

How to escape from this.Win10 pro, 1709

Hello,

0xC1900101 is generic error code and points to driver incompatibility while you opt to upgrade. You need to read the dialog, which likely came before this error message. There should be additional information with the detail. The dialog will tell you what devices are having a problem. That is the one you need to get a new driver for. 

Once you fixed the driver(s) mentioned with detail, the error will no longer persist.

    Hi Chef . I had the same problems with 1803 but found deleting my c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder contents got me to 1809 . No this is back doing the same thig gets to 5% and then uninstalls it self after installing all the way up to 1809 without problems. I have to wonder whether Microsoft is testing its updates on Windows Professional 10 /. I had a similar problem 4th October 2018 where it went 52 % and then removed its install. I was told at the time to pause updates. Strangely this update  was altered over Christmas and the update change behaviour running to 100% and then not ever installing . I don't know why these updates fail in the same way but am of the option that they are not tested on Windows Professional 10 and only on Windows Home 10 I have documented this all here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-update-error-0x80240034-windows-10-feature/d7baf9f4-cdcc-43ab-acea-36fb4850d7cc

    Windows and their errors (sigh). I get youre frustation. I managed to get the latest updat 1809 (asus laptop N53S and a desktop pc). For the desktop pc I had to follow the instructions to disable a VT setting in the bios. That worked for me. Laptop I was lucky after many tries.

    I Recovery and com back to Old Version ( 1607 ) and at the moment I don't have problem and I don't care about New Version ( 1803 ) ,because too much hassle to upgrade for new version
