Windows 10 1803 update gives this message  0xc1900101. Then windows update starts the download again.

Then it's message 0x80070005.

How to escape from this.Win10 pro, 1709

Hello,

0xC1900101 is generic error code and points to driver incompatibility while you opt to upgrade. You need to read the dialog, which likely came before this error message. There should be additional information with the detail. The dialog will tell you what devices are having a problem. That is the one you need to get a new driver for. 

Once you fixed the driver(s) mentioned with detail, the error will no longer persist.

    Install Linux and you will be happy. No bugs, etc. Good idea. Gracias.

    I don't think that there exists such thing as a software with no bugs.

    This is why the Linux community appears suspicious to me ;-)

    Had the same problem. Was solved as I chose not to restart after the update, but to shutdown the computer (update and shutdown on the start menu). After switching the computer on again the update was installed.

    . Por causa dos problemas de atualização do Windows por 1, 5 anos agora. Aconselhável, com muita dor e muito dinheiro para uma loja de reparo do PC, para obter uma atualização do Windows instalado. Agora, após 6 meses de atualização 1803 (suspiro). As janelas e sistemas operacionais Windows e as suas atualizações.Não é de admirar por que as pessoas estão comprando livros mac agora. Eu concordo que é hora de dizer adeus às janelas para sempre e comprar produtos da Apple.

    Instale um Linux e seja feliz! KDE Neon é excelente, estável, atualizado e sem bugs!

    Asus GL702VM here. I am getting 0xc1900101 on Windows 10 ver 1803. I had the same issue for months with the ver 1709 update. Opened a ticket with Microsoft. They could not resolve it so I eventually had to do a clean install.

    Going to ignore this update for a while - its easier than doing yet another clean install....

    Same issue on my Asus N752. Solved problem disabling Vt-d option in bios. After update install successfully you can re-enable that option. Let me know if you solve with this trick.

    I updated my BIOS from v 202 to 306. After validating the BIOS update worked, I disabled Vt-D as you suggested. After that I was able to install the update successfully! Thank you for the tip, you just saved me many hours of aggravation!
