OH NO!

Back to the Thumbnail Cache deletion Problem again!

MS please fix this real fast!

I was one of the testers giving information that Win10 always deleted the thumbnailcache.

Sorry page cannot be accessed any more!

All was fine after MS did some fixing with the help of MAAANNNY others that had the same problem!

Now I did the Fall Creators update! BAM! Back again.

Thumbnails get deleted ON EYERY reboot!

Thats really really annoying!

Do not try a solution. There is none!

The failure in the past was a database corruption. MS fixed it ( do not know how) and it worked. Now it is back!

Please dig into it an fix it!

    I was another that was involved with this thumbnail problem back a few years ago and it has been fine until the Fall Creators  update 1709 16299.19 came out the Thumbnails seem to delete not on every restart it is more like every few hours.

    They try to tell you that it is something wrong with your folders and that isn't the problem.

    I have 7 different computers and the problem started on all of them at the same time as well as every other computer I have checked out at least 10 others.

    I have over 12,000 photos and 1500 videos and not just the pictures and videos but any folder with thumbnails will be gone within a few hours and yes they regenerate and will be gone again.

    This is the worst for me the wait for the thumbnails to regenerate every time I open a folder

    The worst is if you open you home video videos with 200 videos it takes 30 seconds or so

    I sure hope they undo there problem soon.

    thanks for your answer.

    As I said I was part of the group of Insiders that helped clarifying the initial thumbnail cache problem. I did not do it allone but gave some hints with hardcore testing. All is written down in the link above.

    Yes, for sure I did all to check that it is not my fault.

    Cleared thumbnail cache

    Did a fresh install

    Checked with other machine

    Checked with different build of Win10

    It showed a problem with Fall creators update. Cache gets deleted on every reboot.

    And yes, I submitted it via feedback hub.

    Another sufferer from the very same problem, thumbnail caches get deleted every few hours. Turning off auto-maintenance won't help, updates till now won't help, windows 10 1709, please Microsoft, FIX IT!

    Oh and please do not try to give me the initial excuse like in the past:

    It´s a feature to speed Win up.

    NO it isn´t ! It was a database corruption and you admited it last time.

    This is quite annoying having +30.000 pics that are always rebuild!
