Windows 10

Started today 11/20/2015 whenever I access Windows Live Mail (2012)  I get an error message 'There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service, check to see if there's an upgrade of Windows Live Mail available or contact a service representative.  I saw a reply for this problem dated 12/2014 but it did not address this problem in Win 10.  Please advise.  The PC was a Win 8.1 before the upgrade.

Thank you!

Could you explain how I can set up the account as an exchange account?

I don't know the first thing about iPhones, but I would reckon that all you have to do is install the Outlook for iOS app.

And when I do will that change anything else about my mail, contact, or calendar?

I can't imagine what that might be. What are you afraid of?

I was able to access my email and calendar thru the existing apps on my iphone and ipad.  The mail is still accessible but as we've noted already the calendar is not syncing so I can't get to any of my upcoming appointments.  My concern in changing things is losing any information I may already have such as contacts or stored email files.   As it is I'm not sure if I have lost information already from my calendar or if it's just a matter of getting access to it some time once sync issue is resolved.

I really would like to have access to my calendar via my iPhone

The Outlook Calendar (Preview) should sync to the iPhone if you set up the account as an Exchange account. The problem is that the calendar in Windows Live Mail won't synchronize with the one at Outlook Calendar.

... will we be informed when the trouble is corrected?

I expect there'll be a new patch released at some stage, but I doubt we'll be told if it is. We'll find out eventually.
