Lumia 950XL 5ghz Wifi issue

So I have found when using my 5Ghz N network the phone will lose all WiFi networking.   On first use, it will connect up OK.  But let it sit and come back to it, it will have lost the WiFi network and the ability to see any other WiFi network with "no networks found".  Only a phone reboot will fix it until it happens again.

So far I've experienced it on my Linksys E8350 (supposed AC2400 and MIMO which the 950XL claims to support).  My Wifi router is set for Wireless A or N on 5Ghz, while it can do N, B, or G on 2.4

My workaround is to  only connect to the 2.4Ghz WiFi at this point. 

Anyone else experiencing complete WiFi radio failure like this?

    Lumia 950XL was running slow on WIFI when compared to my other devices. Strangely once the blue tooth was turned on performance improved dramatically. Happy with my phone now!

    Oops, found a change log online and it looks like it's for phone network services and not for wifi. Still having disconnect problems with 802.11ac, so confirmed that this update does not fix the issue.

    There's an update in the Windows 10 Store today for Network Services, but I'm unable to find a change log online. Does anyone know if this update addresses the 950XL's problems with 802.11ac? I'm testing now, will report back if anything has changed.

    Yes, I believe you. Furthermore, I have added a comment to all of those threads—I found—in Microsoft Answers, pointing to that thread. It is easier to update one thread, when there are any news (or even a solution). What I want to say: It does not affect all 802.11ac users (like me). Therefore, it is better to collect as many information as possible.

    I've had this same problem with my 950XL (hardware rev 4.0.3.1) since day one. I have seen it on build .0, .29 and with original firmware and updated firmware 01078.00027.15506.02005).

    I own two routers, a Netgear R6300 (firmware V1.0.2.78_1.0.58 ), and a Netgear WNDR3700 (firmware v1.0.7.98NA). Both routers have 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks. When the problem happens to my 950XL both 5ghz networks (from both routers) drop. If I take my phone to other locations I can't see any 5ghz networks there either, until I reboot the phone. Even if I do not connect to a 5ghz band, Wifi will stop being able to see 5ghz networks. Strangely, sometimes if I wait a few days without rebooting I see the 5ghz bands again.

    People seem to be having trouble with AC capable routers, and some have had luck disabling AC compatibility. My routers don't seem to have that option - all I can do is drop the max connection speed from 1300 to 600 or 300. I've tried that but still lose my 5ghz bands on my XL. For now I'm just using 2.4ghz connections.
