I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to Windows10. The main use for this computer, is sewing/embroidery software, 4D Embroidery. Is W 10 going to run that software satisfactorily?

I have installed 4D on my Windows 10 computer along with the updates and the dongle update and everything works fine except sending to the Reader/Writer so that I can actually use the designs. The 32 bit Vista driver installs; the 64 bit Vista driver will not. In any event, the computer won't recognize the Reader/Writer. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your help. I was using the usb stick that came with the machine. I also tried using a new formatted stick that had no other files on it, and it still didn't work. I think it is a problem with 5D and I purchased the upgrade to Premier+.
I'm not really sure what might be the problem. It sounds like the USB stick might have too large of a capacity. It really shouldn't be larger than 2-4Gb. When you use a USB stick which has too much available capacity, the machine will freeze because it is attempting to read the entire stick into your Topaz 30 memory. You do need to go into Configure and make sure at least one of your Send options is set up for USB.
Also, make sure where the designs are stored on your USB stick. Make sure all of the designs you want to use are all in the same folder. The 4th block may be outside of that folder.
I have 5d and upgraded to windows 10. It worked fine for a while but now it will not display properly and does not send the design properly to the machine (Topaz30). I have run the compatibilty troubleshooter each time I open the program to get it to display correctly. I do save the settings. I have also upgranded the device driver (HASP). Now when using the usb stick to stitch out the design, it will freeze up when it reaches the 4th block in the design. I have tried with several designs, deleted the design, reopened and resent and still no luck. Thanks for any help.
If you had already upgraded the dongle to 5D then it is upgraded. Install 4D and then 5D along with all the updates in your software database account. (Log into the account using the email address and password you used during the 5D upgrade.) Go to www.premierplusembroidery.com and download new HASP (dongle) drivers from the support page. Go to the bottom of the page where it says Other Useful Software. The file is an executable file so you can either save and then run or just run. Once the new drivers are installed, you shouldn't have any problem opening 5D.
