It is, I believe (ie I don't know) a security app for code loaded through USB.
I don't think that this a serious Microisoft effort to kill XP, as it is too puny.
Some guy at Microsoft apparently thinks that XP users are all going to switch to W8, but I think that if XP ever dies, people will want something similar from another vendor.
So I would think that some brash young Microsoft CEO who kills off XP, might find Microsoft reduced to an X-Box company, and keep on shrinking.
Why would any sane person, toss away such an asset, rather than keep improving it at a modest rate.
