I'm not trying to stick up for Microsoft here but I think we need to get a dose of reality. Look at this update. This is not a easy patch. It clearly is impacting a lot of USB drivers and we HAVE a lot of usb drivers. And a boatload of third party code
is written in this space. So going into this update I expected to have blips with this update when it interacts with a space where we have a ton of third party drivers. To expect any vendor to get 100% perfection is to not be reasonable. Especially when
the Windows ecosystem is as open as it is to have third party code written to it. They cannot test all of the usb drivers we have out here in the Windows ecosystem. What they can do (and believe me I am pushing for that) is to be more responsive to investigating
when issues occur.
What I don't want to be blown out of proportion is the impact. I have this update installed at home on multiple PCs with no issues. So there is not a guarantee that you'll be impacted. If you are impacted - help me help all of us by emailing me at susan-at-msmvps.com
(change the -at- to @) and I can get you the help you need as well as helping all of us understand the root cause.
Just because a person is impacted doesn't mean you will be. Please help me by not hiding it but installing it. Try it on one machine. Thank you for your cooperation!
