Hello.

I got an issue with my Lumia 930 that i bought today.

When i've got an incomming/outgoing call the person on the other end can't hear me, but i can hear them clearly. It works when i put the call on speaker, but i want to be able to call someone and not sharing the conversation with everyone around me.

So far i've done:

Soft reset

Hard reset

Nokia Software recovery tool

Does anyone have this issue?

Is there a fix for this or should i return it?

    well that's not Microsoft's problem...

Lets pretend for one moment there is a recall...

To make use of the recall you have to take your phone to a repair centre. They will return the phone and you will get a new one!

Have you actually reported the problem with Microsoft directly? Forums are not an official bug or service reporting system or tool.

Just as an FYI, I took a risk and bought a MS Band here in Australia. If my Band breaks its my problem and I have no recourse on getting it fixed short of flying to USA and taking it to a MS Store or service centre.

This is a rick I took and was fully aware of buy buying the Band in a market where it is not released.

    hi dear frozenwaffles

This problem occurred immediately after Denim self installed. Some say it's a hardware problem but why only after Denim.

I have two different opinions for this issue, besides what everybody has already said. One thing is that 930s are made in many places alround the world, and this issue appears in 930s from many different places. Mine is from Brazil, and I read that pones from Europe, HK, etc have the same problema. Could it be possible that mics are made by the same provider and after the update the failed mics blew away? it's strange...

And second, and more important, I could suggest an easy solution to MS: give us a simple software fix that redirects the mic that captures the audio for speaker mode to any other of the FOUR mics this phone has!!! Is it so difficult to do that? maybe it is as simple as a registry edit... Think that Camera mode records audio because it is using 4 mics at a time, at least 3 are recording and it works... I would be definitely happy with a solution like that...

There is a flaw in the conclusion blaming this error on software or firmware. You forget the people who have stable microphone performance on their fully updated Lumia 930 phones.

It's a problem in all vendor forums, mostly users with problems come here (and some who think sharing and learning is a great pastime, of course!)

I do not understand why a warranty claim were not made ASAP when the error occurred. A stable error in a basic phone feature is easy to demonstrate at the place of purchase - which is where defect claims are made within the E.U.

It is in the best interest of both the manufacturer and the retailer to maintain happy users. Some commitment is required, and a polite approach helps.

    Trust me, I'm old. ;-)

Ok, so a few people here are convinced this is a hardware issue. So all of the users who wrote that this started happening after the software update are wrong?! Or maybe the update did something to the hardware (overload it somehow so some circuits burned or something)?! Yeah, thats it! ..... If that was true, MS could destroy every windows operated phone or a computer in the world if they wanted. But why would they. No one would ever buy their products again. And yes I rated the product and wrote a review, but no one contacted me. So what..... i will never buy an MS phone again and this one I paid 600€ plus I used all of my bonus with my phone company. I have allways trashed on people who use iPhones but I think now I'll become one after all. I like windows on my phone, and I don't mind it's behind iOs and android, but this is too much. And the sad part is, if MS fixed this with an update or gave me another one that's working properly, I would stay with it.
