Nokia Lumia 930 microphone problem

Switched to iPhone 6+ some months ago already because chance of a fix from microsoft is zero.

Stupid thing tho is that the lower microphone is working fine on normal calls and even on video recording   only on speakermode no work.

So what is wrong on speakermode?  when used skype i switched continuously from speakermode to telephone because in telephone the microphone works fine.

I cannot believe that the microphone is broken on speakermode and same mic is working  on telephone mode? 

My mic worked fine straight out the box and only after going to Denim update start troubling.

Also you can hear the mic switching off,  you hear 'bloob'  when going to speakermode.

i am 100% convinced this is a wrong assignment for the lower microphone on speakermode and i think it has to do with firmware from phone together with sofware.

I tried windows 10  version 10666 but still no luck,  will continue use the iPhone where everything always works.

I will never ever spend money anymore on anything windows because all my Apple products work,  never fail or break or problem,  nothing  and this for years and years already.  No wonder windows phone is not a succes

I'm sorry, but there is not going to be an official acknowledgement or recall, unless there is a risk the phone will catch fire. And even in that case only after consumer organizations and government electronics safety departments get involved.

Some users in this thread went though several replacement phones before they got a fully working Lumia 930. Only Microsoft knows the failure rate of their different phone models - it just takes a failure rate of a few percent to make an issue seem widespread in any vendor forum.

I followed this thread since it started in Nokia Discussions and I am convinced this is a hardware failure. An update and the extra strain on all components can be the reason for one of the thermal failures listed in the Wikipedia article and its links.

If still in warranty take it to the retailer or an authorized workshop immediately.

It is not economically advisable to have the motherboard replaced on an out of warranty Lumia 930 in an officially approved workshop. Some independent workshops do high quality repairs at a low cost, others trash the phone completely.

There is nothing further I can do to help, unfortunately.

If there's a recall then Microsoft will arrange for the item to be replaced at their cost with a guarantee of a fix, as opposed to me spending 25% of the value of the phone getting it to a service centre with no such guarantee, since the problem that many of us are facing doesn't really exist.

Yes I've approached Microsoft through other channels (as I mentioned previously). The solution is always eventually to take the phone to a authorised service point. This approach works if you're Apple and have one in every major city, it doesn't work otherwise.

And yes, I live in a supported country so I have a minimum expectation of supported functionality and customer service.

Lets pretend for one moment there is a recall...

To make use of the recall you have to take your phone to a repair centre. They will return the phone and you will get a new one!

Have you actually reported the problem with Microsoft directly? Forums are not an official bug or service reporting system or tool.

Just as an FYI, I took a risk and bought a MS Band here in Australia. If my Band breaks its my problem and I have no recourse on getting it fixed short of flying to USA and taking it to a MS Store or service centre.

This is a rick I took and was fully aware of buy buying the Band in a market where it is not released.
