Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community Forums.

From your issue description , I understand that you need to delete the uninstalled App history from the Windows App Store.

Unfortunately its not possible to delete the uninstall App history in the windows 8 App store. Its designed like that .So in future if you want install any of these apps again in your computer you don’t to have search for that in the whole App Store. You can just select “My Apps” and from there you can install that once again very easily.

Hope this helps. Please get back to us if you have any other questions

Microsoft support has no presence here. This is strictly other users like you trying to solve their issues or help someone else. This may not be the answer you wanted but is the only one there is. This has not been changed in Windows 8.1 either and I doubt you will ever see it change. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to assist you.

    Microsoft Support and @Silverback_1,

The ongoing purpose of this thread is to let Microsoft know that the answer that was given is not a valid one.  Claiming that this is by design is a weak argument.  This design has flaws.

I have the histories of apps from all the virtual, and real, machines that I used as an alpha and beta tester of Windows 8 when I was on a development team working as a vendor.  These virtual machines do not exist anymore.  Do you think that it is valid argument that I shouldn't be able to remove those virtual machine names, and the associated apps, from the store database?

I also think that it is not important to prevent an end user from deleting the history of free apps from the store database.  I do think it is wise to track and keep the history of paid apps.

Please escalate this to someone that can make a more informed decision on the merits of all of the complaints that have appeared in this thread.

As stated above this is by design in case that you change your mind in the future and currently there is no way to remove them. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to assist you.
