Hi getting above message with device manager for this hardware TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H653N ATA

Ive tried running the Microsoft trouble shooter but this doesn't help any ideas? Running Windows 8 thanks

Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    Can you check in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder that the following two files exist:

    syntp.sys

    kbfltr.sys

    To let you know, my keyboard is working now, but my touchpad is still unresponsive.

    Make and Model of the computer:

    Sony Vaio, Intel Core i3 

    Model : SVE15115ENB

    There is no issue with the second one but can you post a screen shot of the first one?

    I checked the mentioned registries.

    Under the first one, yes there is an upper filter whose data is :

    Kbfltr SynTP kbfltr kbfltr kbdclass

    Under the second one also, there is an upper filter named value. Its data value is : 

    Mouclass
