I had this problem when I got my computer. I tried the above first, but that failed. Try clicking on the time in the lower right corner of your screen; a window should pop up and you should be able to set the correct time there.
Clock on windows 8 is wrong time, i tried setting to internet time but its still wrong, think theres a time clock bug, anyone have same problem for windows 8 and know how to fix it?

Just to be absolutely sure, I re-booted again and Windows overrode my manual BIOS change and switched the time back so that it's now once again ahead by five hours.
I've been a Windows 8.1 user for barely a day and I'm already regretting my decision to 'upgrade' from Win 7.

2014-01-21T04:20:19+00:00 I installed Win 8.1 yesterday and have been experiencing the same problem with time. My PC was consistently off by five hours, and while I could change the time manually it would reset every time I re-booted the computer.
Sound familiar to you folks?
Here's what I've done to resolve the situation:
- Re-boot the computer.
- Press 'DEL' during start-up to enter the BIOS management tool.
- Check the time. In my BIOS, the time was off by exactly five hours. (Aha!)
- Change the time in the BIOS to reflect the correct time.
- Re-boot the computer. Cross fingers. Pray silently.
- Check the time in Windows.
For the first time in more than twenty-four hours, my computer booted with the correct time. Will it stay at the correct time? I have no idea, but if it doesn't I'll be sure to come back to this thread and say so.
I'm curious as to why Windows and my BIOS weren't talking to each other. All of my drivers are up-to-date, so the problem is most likely with the OS, not the motherboard.

2013-12-30T13:08:43+00:00 My problem is exactly the same (regarding the time being off) but I don't have dual boot, linux or any other software affecting the computer, also my computer is on 24/7 so how windows 7 can keep time correctly and Windows 8 is completely wrong (several minutes).
