I had this problem when I got my computer. I tried the above first, but that failed. Try clicking on the time in the lower right corner of your screen; a window should pop up and you should be able to set the correct time there.
Clock on windows 8 is wrong time, i tried setting to internet time but its still wrong, think theres a time clock bug, anyone have same problem for windows 8 and know how to fix it?

2013-12-04T10:38:41+00:00 The time problem I had was definitely related to booting occasionally to Linux--which set BIOS to wrong time. Fixed now. Thnx!
