Hello

I got a call from a guy with a really heavy Indian accent claiming to be working with Microsoft.

He told me that my computer had multiple problems.

He then told me to hit the Window icon on my keyboard and R (Which is to activate Run)

After that, he told me to type in "www.ammyy.com" and hit enter.

Right when he said that, I got suspicious.

I checked their website and it seemed legit.

I decided to google "AMMYY" and I saw "AMMYY scam"

I checked lots of posts having the EXACT same thing

-Indian guy

-AMMYY

-Computer problems

-Work for microsoft.

I hanged up and shut down my computer just in case. (I"m paranoid)

I turned back my computer on and the guy called me again.

He asked me why did I hanged up and I told him it was an accident.

He asked if I downloaded AMMYY yet.

I told him this "I ain't getting my computer hacked today, buddy." and hanged up again.

I ran a full computer scan with Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security.

(Which I trust since it went with my computer)

So my question.

Who are these guys?

How many people work with them?

Why aren't they sued yet?

Is my computer safe?

You're fine. They cold called you and have no access to your PC since you didn't install anything or allow them to connect to your PC.

Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently - Microsoft does not make unsolicited

    Still though, they stopped calling back because I don't know their phone number. Don't even have caller id. I'm still going to report them until the FBI or NSA find out who they are. I do have something to record and it's legal for me in my state to record those conversations next time I got a call from them again. If I ever get a chance to.

    A woman called me a few  minutes ago and trainferred me to her  supper  he is indian  , he told me the same thing    and that is as far as I got  , cause he  hung up on me '

    I had those **** call me today and it's a good thing that my computer blocked the access to their server to begin with. I knew from the start that they are trying to mess with you and I didn't fell for it and I looked them up. There is this Indian guy named Abraham that is supposed to be a tech support but I still didn't believe what he's saying. I also checked out on the web as to what kind of website they wanted me to go to while I hit run. They also called me last Saturday at 10:45 in the morning the first call I told them that I don't have internet access and I said I might not come home within an hour so they just let me go. Well I signed up to the do not call list and when the grace period is over,I'm going to report them. I played dumb and he started to get really annoyed and hang up, they have no patience to even take over your computer.Do not trust telemarketers ever...

    These guys are ***NOT*** telemarketers.  They are thieves.  In addition to taking your money, they almost certainly implant malware on your computer, from which to conduct DDOS cyber attacks.

    Telemarketers actually try to sell you products, albeit often of dubious value.  Think of these guys more as terrorists, who ask YOU to pay for the privilege of storing roadside bomb making materials in your basement for them.
