OK. It now works. Just restart your machine and let the download happen on it's own. the intelitype application will install with the latest drivers and settings application.
Good luck.
Lets hear other's success.

for my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system now every time i reboot the computer windows automatically downloads and then installs the Microsoft intellitype pro software. First apun rebooting I get the small icon in the system tray that indicates that something is being installed i click on it i then get a message telling me [Driver software installation / Installing device driver software / Microsoft hardware USB keyboard] then after that i get another window that pops up this one says: [Downloading Microsoft Intellitype Pro / Driver installation complete. Downloading keyboard configuration software (Microsoft IntelliType Pro) after that a bubble appears in my system tray telling me that the device had been installed sucessfully.
Then life goes on ...... But i would like to know what happened so I can stop this, its very annoying
Some things I have done to try to fix the problem
1.) Uninstalled the microsoft intellitype pro 8.0 and the Microsoft intellipoint 8.0 software from add remove programs list... reboot ...problem still exists
I was hoping someone else had some more ideas :)
THANK YOU!
PS I have Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000 v1.0
Mouse drivers were installed & works just fine No Problems there!

Add me to the list. Natural Ergonomic keyboard 4000. Windows 7 SP1 64 bit. It was happening before the sp1 install but that did nothing to fix the issue. I also can't rollback the driver so I hope they get this fixed soon.
i haven't done sp1 yet but did hide the drivers so they aren't offered again.
i have MS intelitype 3000 and ms optical mouse V1 (wired) they came in a kit when i had puget systems build this i7-940.
i sucessfully rolled back as whn i went to system restore it showed a restore point before each update and while there were 2 drivers as said above the mouse updates itself fine but the keyboard has same driver number listed on each file so obviously it never completes it's installation....
windows 7 64 bit professional has always made a backup before all updates.... i watch as my boot drive (velicoraptor) gets less free space but i wait for a months worth then delete 2 weeks worth if all is well. i use CCleaner to pick the ones i wish to delete.
i found that there were at least 4 HID changes that were made with 2 drivers hence my total of 6 rollback points, which i went to seventh so i was past the rogue drivers... funny as last year i saw same type of drivers listed as "other type" just as these were on windows update which i check manually. BTW i use MSE as my virus app and if i update from windows updates that also makes a restore point.
i hope they get this fixed not that the drivers would do anything for my keyboard or mouse at this point but just to clear up this ____ we are expriencing along with i am sure thousands others who just haven't found this thread yet.
exactly, and old update (december 2010) that appeared suddenly.
yep, the problem is still there, the SP1 didn't solve anything.
