for my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system now every time i reboot the computer windows automatically downloads and then installs the Microsoft intellitype pro software. First apun rebooting I get the small icon in the system tray that indicates that something is being installed i click on it i then get a message telling me [Driver software installation / Installing device driver software / Microsoft hardware USB keyboard] then after that i get another window that pops up this one says: [Downloading Microsoft Intellitype Pro / Driver installation complete. Downloading keyboard configuration software (Microsoft IntelliType Pro) after that a bubble appears in my system tray telling me that the device had been installed sucessfully.

Then life goes on ...... But i would like to know what happened so I can stop this, its very annoying

Some things I have done to try to fix the problem

1.) Uninstalled the microsoft intellitype pro 8.0 and the Microsoft intellipoint 8.0 software from add remove programs list... reboot ...problem still exists

  1. uninstalled devices from device manager... reboot... problem still exists
  2. moved both keyboard and bouse to different usb ports... reboot... problem still exists

I was hoping someone else had some more ideas :)

THANK YOU!

PS I have Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000 v1.0

Mouse drivers were installed & works just fine No Problems there!

OK. It now works. Just restart your machine and let the download happen on it's own. the intelitype application will install with the latest drivers and settings application.

Good luck.

Lets hear other's success.

I have a 32 bit Win 7 and MS Ergonomic Keyboard.   During every boot a dialogue box to install  Intellitype 8.0 appears.  Every installation attempt fails.  The MS standard keyboard driver is loaded but it does not support the function keys or special keyboard features.  Error msg says: "Setup could not install a required component: Microsoft Application Error Reporting."    I've followed MS trouble shooting steps but nothing seems to help.  Really frustrating.

to thoise that are now "fixed" have you gone into add/remove programs and looked to see what version of intellitype driver you have?

i am seeing 8.0.225.0 .........windows 7 professional 64bit pre sp1 when this happened. now sp1 is installed.

I became so frustrated with the problems in SP1 that I uninstalled it and went back to plain old Windows 7. The first thing that happened was the Intellitype message came up again, and it installed the new version 8.1.249 for Intellitype(even though it's not available from the download site).

Now, when I checked in add/remove programs, both Intellipoint and Intellitype are listed as "8.01.249.0".

If I hear of a resolution to the other issues with SP1, I will re-install.

    Good luck,

    Leighton

sorry to hear about your sp1 issue... i have seen very few of those.

shame it put back the driver package as it didn't for me and i "assume" maybe my keyboard doesn't require it. as the drivers are at this point additions with new mice and keyboards not much else.

i have no issues related to either so i'll pass.

again good luck getting sp1 straightened out.
