OK. It now works. Just restart your machine and let the download happen on it's own. the intelitype application will install with the latest drivers and settings application.

for my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system now every time i reboot the computer windows automatically downloads and then installs the Microsoft intellitype pro software. First apun rebooting I get the small icon in the system tray that indicates that something is being installed i click on it i then get a message telling me [Driver software installation / Installing device driver software / Microsoft hardware USB keyboard] then after that i get another window that pops up this one says: [Downloading Microsoft Intellitype Pro / Driver installation complete. Downloading keyboard configuration software (Microsoft IntelliType Pro) after that a bubble appears in my system tray telling me that the device had been installed sucessfully.
Then life goes on ...... But i would like to know what happened so I can stop this, its very annoying
Some things I have done to try to fix the problem
1.) Uninstalled the microsoft intellitype pro 8.0 and the Microsoft intellipoint 8.0 software from add remove programs list... reboot ...problem still exists
- uninstalled devices from device manager... reboot... problem still exists
- moved both keyboard and bouse to different usb ports... reboot... problem still exists
I was hoping someone else had some more ideas :)

2011-04-18T20:20:34+00:00 There must be a gremlin, or something, hiding in the keyboard and mouse drivers. Today, I installed the latest keyboard and mouse drivers, offered from Windows Update, less than two months since this problem began.
Less than two months ago, the keyboard driver would not install.
Today, both the keyboard and mouse install and, after several reboots, all of the messages indicating a successful install have stopped.
However, all of the support icons for both the keyboard and mouse keep getting pinned to the start menu. I "remove from this list", go off and do something, come back, and the pinned icons are back.
The latest drivers in question are 8.15.403.

- Open windows explorer and navigate to your Microsoft Intellipoint program directory.
- Right click on the folder and click the Security Tab
- Under group or user names click edit
- Click Add
- Type "Everyone" and then tick "Full Control"
- Click OK (twice)
- Reboot
- Intellipoint will install (for the last time) correctly
- You're done!!
The problem is the programmer set the installation permissions incorrectly so that some of the files are not being updated, as the installer does not have the correct permission. Check your "trusted installer" for that folder and see if it has write permissions. If it doesn't, give it write permissions, and you can get rid of the "everyone" permission in the security tab.

2011-03-15T02:07:04+00:00 Obviously the updateor fix to the update hasn't propagated to the Australian Update servers as I am still having the same issues.
If I could find where the intellipoint setup is set to run from I would just delete it and wait for the next release. Have tried 8.0 and 8.1 installs to no avail.
Tired to run the Windows Error Reporter install that is contained inside the IP driver (prereq\watson\amd64\dw20sharedamd64.msi) and that doesnt seem to help either.

2011-02-28T11:33:31+00:00 How curious, typing "IntelliType Pro 8.01.249.0" returned no results within any search engine. I fooled around the most recent drivers for my Digital Media Pro keyboard using Google, Yahoo and other search engines with no luck.
It appears that M$ retired the program from their servers shortly after releasing it.
Apparently the program installers were corrupted by kinda sort of malicious code.
