I had same issue. Here is how to fix it. This is easy and works! Thanks to whoever figured it out.

After long day of research, at last I got the solution. It seems the new Windows Live has grouped the wldcore.dll and wldlog.dll (used by Messenger, Contacts and Mail) to a folder c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Shared

    ![](http://blog.meidianto.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/image_thumb.png)

Maybe because I did upgrade install it screwed up things.

The solution was simply copy paste those 2 files wldcore.dll and wldlog.dll from c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Shared to

    • c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger
    • c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Contacts
    • c:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail

Now I can login to Windows Live Messenger and enjoy the whole Windows Live Essentials 2011 products.

I uninstalled Windows Essentials so that I could reinstall it.  It is the reinstall that created the problem..After the reinstall I got the error message that 'WLDCore.dll was missing and Windows Live Mail cannot function without it.  I have reinstalled Windows Essentials several times to try to install WLDCore.dll with no success...I still get the same error message.  I cannot uninstall and reinstall because Window Essentials is NOT there to uninstall.  I have tried to install 'WLDCore.dll' from the internet with NO success. This is not a 'Live Messenger' issue...I am trying to get my email service back with Windows Essentials... Any help you can give me will be appreciated...
