Arc Touch Mouse Scroll stops working

Hi,

I'm using Win 7 (32 bit) with the MS arc Touch mouse software and drivers installed. Running on HP TX2 Touchsmart Tablet.

I'm facing a problem with my mouse with regards to the scroll function.

After "switching on" the mouse, there is a green led light and everything seems to work. The green LED then disappears, presumably to save battery.

However, after a short period of time, the scroll function will not work at all. There is no scroll "feedback" felt from the scroll strip either. But when I flatten the mouse and turn it back on again, everything works as per normal.

But after some time, the same problem resurfaces. Then, I have to turn the mouse off and back on again. Sometimes, the scroll function "turns" itself back on automatically. But most of the time, it just stops working altogether.

This is very irritating. It seems nobody else have encountered this issue.

Please help!!

    Hello,

       I have been to this site a couple of times in an attempt to find a resolution to this issue. Lots of times techies give long winded answers and or links to articles to appear as 'brainacs' or to put us through some work because they had to do some digging. But I like to get to the point.  I am still using Win 7 (32 bit).

    1. Turn the Microsoft Arc mouse bottom up ( on the other side away from infamous scroll strip)
    2. At the very end of the mouse (the end farthest from the battery compartment), remove the plastic piece.
    3. That's all.
    4. Afterwards you may want to fine the mouse so that it is working the way that best suits you. That is Start Menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center

    Hi,

    I think I found the Problem.

    I bought this mouse a week before and after some days I had the same Problem.

    So I just follow the repair manual from Microsoft as well without solving the Problem.

    What I did was to use a tissue paper and Screen cleaner (Screen 99 from CRC) which has also includes an antistaticum.

    After cleaning the surface the scroll function works.

    So it looks like that from time to time the surface has be cleaned.

    The Arc Touch Mouse failed to scroll right out of the box.  The unit cannot be any cleaner than brand new, factory clean.  Like hbbyboy (01/02/2015) asked, "Let us know how long it works after cleaning."

    Hi guys, same issue here happening to me. My mouse is near new and it has done this intermittent scroll fail issue since new. I have been busy with work and I've only found the time to follow it up further now.
