Arc Touch Mouse Scroll stops working

Hi,

I'm using Win 7 (32 bit) with the MS arc Touch mouse software and drivers installed. Running on HP TX2 Touchsmart Tablet.

I'm facing a problem with my mouse with regards to the scroll function.

After "switching on" the mouse, there is a green led light and everything seems to work. The green LED then disappears, presumably to save battery.

However, after a short period of time, the scroll function will not work at all. There is no scroll "feedback" felt from the scroll strip either. But when I flatten the mouse and turn it back on again, everything works as per normal.

But after some time, the same problem resurfaces. Then, I have to turn the mouse off and back on again. Sometimes, the scroll function "turns" itself back on automatically. But most of the time, it just stops working altogether.

This is very irritating. It seems nobody else have encountered this issue.

Please help!!

I have the same problem with Microsoft Arc Touch.  The "wheel" will stop working, and I have to "turn it off" and then turn it back on to get the wheel to respond again.  The troubleshooting tips don't give a tip for a permanent fix to the problem.

It's obvious that there isn't a working solution to this - even after three years.  Why is Microsoft evading this issue altogether if this is a problem for so many people?  I wish I had seen this before I bought the thing!  I think next time I buy anything computer related, I'm going to Apple!

I had the exact same issue right out of the box. Read these reviews and after fighting with it for over an hour exchanged it for another one. New one is working fine. If you have this issue only fix is replace it. It is a hardware defect of some sort.

I am deeply disappointed with this mouse that microsoft developed. I'm going through the same problem in scroll and there is no way to solve yet. Nowadays it is difficult to find any equipment that actually works as expected and as its price, especially when it comes to big companies like Microsoft. This is sad, very sad.

Replace the faulty mouse with a new one is impossible because I won this as a gift and I do not have the invoice anymore. I've had XBOX with 3RL after a few months (I bought a PS3) and this mouse with scroll problem (I'm using a logitech now, because the problem in scroll really annoys me). If I plan to buy microsoft products and praise? I do not think so.

I encountered a similar issue too. I had been using this mouse for about a year when the scrolling just suddenly stop working. The scroll will work when the mouse is just turned on but stop working as soon as I switched tab. The link posted doesnt help either!
