Hello,

My computer is stuggling to get internet access, I keep getting this message - Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding). All of the other computers in my house are connected with no difficulty. Any suggestions?

I resolved the problem. When my router lost power, somehow the addresses got changed so the IP address of the wireless Dell computer no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router. When I reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP address on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

My solution was to go into your properties for your network adapter and under IPv4 set the DNS IP manually to your internal network DNS server IP (change from automatic). It appears some of these routers stop routing and resolving internal DNS IP's automatically with Windows 7 for some reason. I checked our DNS server and it showed no problems. I could resolve DNS using either an external or internal IP for DNS.
