Hello,

My computer is stuggling to get internet access, I keep getting this message - Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All of the other computers in my house are connected with no difficulty.  Any suggestions?

I resolved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses got changed so the IP address of the wireless Dell computer no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP address on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

    My problem was I could not connect WiFi on my laptop. Method two was the easiest for me to follow. I fixed the problem from my main computer, attached by ethernet cable and therefore internet was still connected on that one. One thing was different. when you highlight Internet Protocol Version 6  and version 4, the properties button is below, not a right click. Don't forget to restart your modem/router and restart both of your computers if you are in a homegroup.

    I have the same issue and proceeded with the suggestions above, but I failed to receive : "successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache."

    It only goes out periodically, but it is very frustrating !

    not sure what you mean "cloning excessively".

    Use the Resource Monitor (resmon.exe) Network tab to check.  If there are more than two sessions with the same end points it may be cloned excessively.  In fact, in IE you may find up to 6 like that but then if a proxy is involved where the standard would be 2 that could be a bottleneck that would explain the OP's symptom.
