Windows 7 Windows Media Player 12 won't update the library when I add an item to the library, additionally when I delete a file from it's containing folder the media player doesn't remove it from the library. Can you help please?

If all these steps suggested above doesnt work close WMP12 stop all running services and try to open : "C:\Users"Your Username" \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player" and delete all the contained files (maybe copy them to another folder for a backup).

Afterwards open WMP 12 press F3 and the library index works how it is supposed to!

    I had the same problem and by deleting the temporary files, it worked smoothly from there on. I have a different problem but it's with Windows Media Center. When I maximize my windows media center, it becomes very slow. As i try to scroll down, the responses are very slow. However, when i make windows media center smaller, it works good. I don't know why this is happening. Is there any solution? If so please help me. Thank you. I tried finding solution on my own. When i disabled the animation feature from settings > general, it was normal in full screen. However, I don't like disabling the animation feature. What can i do to make windows media center normal again? I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

    Many thanks Azam.  It worked like a charm.  Only suggestion, I typed:

    %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

    instead of

    [list]%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

    Also I had to stop the WMPNetworkSVC (The Windows Media Network Sharing Service) ... otherwise I could not delete one of the .wmdb files.

    After that I followed your instructions and was able to get my Windows Media 12 library to rescan and update properly.
